How to use old Android phone as WiFi extender

unlike other apps NetShare doesn’t use the native hotspots which is now blocked in android 6 and above, instead it uses Wifi Direct in a new and elegant way to make your device act as a wifi hotspot and wifi extender in the same time using WiFi Direct.

Configure the NetShare App

  • Download and install the NetShare no root tethering app on your Android device. Make sure to install it on the device which is going to act as a Wi-Fi repeater.
  • Now checkmark the text box next to Start WiFi Hotspot

  • Head over to the second Android device which requires internet connectivity.
  • Install the same app on that device as well.
  • Next, tap on the CONNECT option present at the top-right of the app, on your second Android device.

Second Mobile

  • At this instance, open your first device and toggle on the WPS switch.
  • On your second device, you will get a VPN Connection request dialog. Tap on OK to grant permission.

Setup Internet on Other device

  • Connect the device to the hotspot
  • set the proxy settings to
  • Address box, enter 192.168.49.1 and
  • enter 8282 in the Port box.

  • That’s it. You may now able to use the internet on your second device by routing the traffic through your first device.
So, that’s all about making your Android device work as a WiFi repeater using a WiFi repeater app. If you face any issues during the setup process, let us know in the comments.
