How to mirror using scrcpy | Mirror Android Screen to PC

Scrcpy is a free and open-source Android screen mirroring application. It is a very lightweight application that provides display and control of Android devices connected over USB or TCP. It doesn’t require any root access. In this article, we are going to see how can we mirror the android device’s screen using it.

Requirements

  1. Android 5.0 or later.
  2. A USB cable.
  3. Enable USB debugging.

Installation

For Windows

A zip file with all dependencies is available for windows. You can download it here. adb tool is also included in this package, so, you don’t have to download it separately. Extract this folder in the current working directory.

Before running Scrcpy on your Windows 10 PC, users will have to download and install the Android ADB tool.

  • Download the Scrcpy latest package and extract the zip file.
  • Enable the USB debugging settings in the Developer options on your Android device.
  • Connect the device to your PC via USB cable.
  • Allow USB Debugging confirmation on your phone.
  • Run the application “Scrcpy


Android Developer Options

The below-mentioned steps are generic for all the Android devices running Stock Android [Pixel Launcher, and Android One]. As for devices running forked Android versions [MIUI, EMUI, ONEUI, etc], you may find a little deviation from the below process.Here is how to access Android developer options:

  • Go to Android settings
  • Tap on System — About phone
  • Scroll down and look for Build Number
  • Tap on Build Number option five to seven times. You will see a pop-up each time you press on it, “You are [X] number of times away from being a developer”
  • Once you have tapped enough times, you will see a message, “You’re now a developer”
  • Go back to main Android settings
  • Scroll down, then tap on the System option
  • Tap on Advanced. You will now see the developer options


  • Enable the developer settings in Android
  • Scroll down to the “Debugging” section
  • Enable USB Debugging
  • Allow USB Debugging by tapping on “OK”

  • SCRCPY CLICK
  • DONE
